Proceedings of the 1st International Workshop on Teaching AI-based Translation and Technologies (TAITT 2026)

This volume contains the proceedings of the 1st International Workshop on Teaching AI-based Translation and Technologies (TAITT 2026), hosted as part of the 26th Annual Conference of the European Association for Machine Translation (EAMT 2026). TAITT is the first dedicated forum focusing on pedagogy, curriculum design, and professional training in the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-driven translation technologies. The first edition of TAITT intends to bring together researchers, educators, industry practitioners, and translators to address these challenges collaboratively. The workshop provides a forum for contributions that explore how AI-based translation and technologies can be taught effectively across academic, professional, and industry contexts, and how curricula can be adapted to ensure that future translators, linguists, and language professionals develop the necessary competencies for working with modern translation technologies. The 11 accepted submissions cover a broad spectrum of topics, ranging from didactic resources and approaches for teaching the technical foundations of MT and language-oriented AI in a translation context via strategies for implementing these technologies in computer-assisted translation teaching to proposals focusing on developing relevant digital literacies such as data, MT, and AI literacy.
